About This Game Sky Knights is an action-packed top-down online multiplayer dogfighting game. Enjoy thrilling head-to-head aerial combat in 4 vs 4 team fights and outmaneuver opponents with tricks and well-timed afterburner boosts. The goal of the team battles is to take out the enemy bases. This must be done while fighting off the enemy players. You will also need to carefully manage your ammo and fuel supply. Rearm and refuel by performing skillful landings in the home base. To be successful, your team must perfect a balance between attack and defense; engage the enemy in combat while supporting your allies in the air as well as on the ground. Tactically choose the fighter jet to fit your play style and your team’s needs. There are nine different aircraft - ranging from the F-16 to the A-10 Warthog - each offering their unique weaponry, stats, strengths and weaknesses. You can further customize your pilot profile with one of eight avatars, and level up to unlock more than 15 aircraft upgrades, six permanent traits and countless visual aircraft customizations.Sky Knights is made by Hampus Bankler, an ex-military fighter jet mechanic and professional game developer. New map! Woodlands!: One of the community's most commonly requested feature has been to add a new map to the game. While the "Desert Trap" level surely plays pretty good, I agreed that it's time to add some variation. Both when it comes to map layout and visuals. I'm happy to finally announce "Woodlands"! This beautiful lush landscape stretches 6 x 7 kilometers, which is approximately 4 times the size of the Desert Trap map. In a map this big, things like radar coverage and positioning becomes even more important than before. Also be careful with your afterburner fuel. It's a pretty long way home if you run out of juice on the other end of the battlefield.Woodlands should be considered "beta" meaning it's relatively untested. This is now implemented, and there are six different minimap icon representing the current six different aircraft types.We have been running regular community event where we crank up the XP income with a +10% modifier for a few hours. While this is great for newer players, there was not that much in it for more experienced players who already have all unlocks. The F-5E Tiger II is the second aircraft in the Light Fighter category, and takes the place as the NATO counterpart for the PACT MiG-21. Make no mistake though, these two aircraft have to be flown quite differently. The F-5E:s engines are not nearly as powerful as the MiG-21:s, making it less of an interceptor. However, when it comes to knife fighting, the Tiger is about as good as it gets. With unparallelled instant turn rate, you'll be flying circles around your opponents as long as you can keep your speed up. This combined with its nose-mounted twin cannons makes the F-5E a deadly adversary. Air superiority and morale balancing: This update addresses the balancing issue that there are few downsides to flying the air superiority fighters vs the other options in the game.Game balance is hard. Especially when the ambition is that everything in the game should be somewhat representative to its real-life counterpart. It's a common feedback point, especially from newer players, that there's no point in flying anything else than an air-superiority fighter. While this might not be 100% true, the air-superiority fighters clearly are the most important elements in most teams.The game is mostly centered around air-to-air combat, and that's intended. That's where most depth can be achieved. That said, I want the air-to-ground aspect to be important as well. It would be easy to start nerfing the F-15 and the Su-27 to make them less dominant in the air. However, that'd feel wrong, since these fighter are made to be just that.
